A newly renovated 1950's ground floor apartment, and in the style of the 18th century, right in the heart of pretty Gdansk old town; beautifully finished with fine furnishings, and suitable for 2/4 people. Apartment Ducha is superbly located a stones throw away from the famous Dgula street, with an abundance of restaurants and shops, craft stalls and shops, including the famous Mont Balzac restaurant and bar with it's live music. With the location being second to none, a car is not essential, and you are right in the vicinity of richly decorated tenements' facades, Neptune's fountain and Artus's manor house.
This is a perfect getaway, for a weekend break, or a week to explore, with a car not being necessary. Gdansk airport is just 30 minutes away. There is a ticket machine (that takes credit card) directly outside the airport terminal, and you can take the public bus (runs several times an hour during the week) into the town centre for 3 Polish Zlotty (less than �1 - Jan 2013). Both the central train station and bus statioin are located in the old town of Gdansk and you can walk to them. It is easy to catch the train to the nearby towns of Sopot or the fishing Port of Gydnia (about 30 mins away and costs just over 5 Polish Zlotty - just over �1 on the SKM commuter train).

Restaurants and shops all within walking distance, some seconds walk away.
Shopping centre and supermarket around 10 minutes walk
Train and bus station 10 minutes walk.
Airport - 35 minute bus journey - less in a taxi.
A weekend break.
Flight only 2 hours from Stansted, at which point you come out of the airport to jump on a 210 bus to Gdansk central. The journey o the centre is circa 35 mins and only 3 Zloty each! (less than �1 or 1 euro) - 2013.
If you visit Gdansk, expect to come to an old town. This isn't Milan, Paris or London this is a historic town with loads of interesting things to see and do.
A 10 min walk from the train station and you are surrounded by buildings with history going back over a 1,000 years! Visiting the river, the ship was the first one built in the boat yard since the war.
St Mary's church is a great example of what Gdansk is all about. It s the largest Brick Built Church in the world, and if you like Gothic Architecture, it is a place you should visit. The church can hold almost 25,000 people, and you can't help but visit and take in the atmosphere. It took almost 200 years to complete!
The rest of Gdansk old town is an area that welcomes visitors. We didn't go anywhere where the local people didn't make us feel welcome. They have a real knack for service.
This studio apartment is as central to the old town that you can get... All decorated in a modern style, retaining the 18th century look and feel where possible. From he old town, you have a 10 min walk to the train station which provides an excellent service into Sopot and Gydina areas. I would recommend to visit. This part of Poland is where the Polish come for their holidays, in fact Sopot was traditionally the country retreat for the rich Polish people. The local trains runs frequently and are extremely good value, under 6 Zlotty (just over �2) to travel to Gydina - 30 minute train journey.
Places that we would recommend wild be:
Amsterdam Bar - Owner very friendly and
welcoming. a great location for a quick drink before yo move on. If you want to try some Polish beer then go here. This is the place where we were introduced to Porters Grand Imperial which is a dark beer. Be warned! 2 Bottles of this will mean your legs go a bit wobbly!
Montbalzac is a lovely bar and restaurant, good food, and live music Thursday - Saturday - reservations necessary, as this is where the locals frequent.
