Can Matas is a newly restored Catalan masia (farmhouse) located in a very quiet and unspoiled valley. It is a perfect place to have a peaceful and stress-free break by enjoying nature.

Description of the house:
The masia is the living area, having 2 floors with 160 m2 each.
The ground floor has a dining room, a bedroom (with one double bed and two single beds), a complete toilet (with a “shower room”), the very spacious kitchen (equipped with oven, vitro-ceramic cooker, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and even a fireplace!), a room for the washing machine and a room for storage
The first floor has the following spaces: a very large sitting room with a fireplace, satellite TV/Radio and a CD player; a reading studio; two double bedrooms with double-beds; a bedroom with two big single beds; a complete toilet (with bath tube and a “shower room”); and a terrace with incredible views over the patio and the fields and mountains outside.

The other buildings and the patio:
There are three buildings that constitute Can Matas: the masia, a barn and a stable. These three are linked by a stone wall that creates a closed patio in the middle (which is perfect to have a BBQ, a lunch/dinner outside or as a playground for children).

The surroundings:
The house is sitting in 42 hectares of fields and woods that are part of the property -including a little river that goes though it-, which offers the opportunity for good adventurous walks. Furthermore, the whole area is perfect for good walks or mountain bike tours (there are several paths marked for that purpose including the famous “Carrilet”, a 40 km path that goes from Olot to Girona -Amer is approximately in the middle of that-).
Interesting places to visit are the Natural Park of the volcanic zone of La Garrotxa, located 15km from the house, and numerous medieval villages in the area (e.g. Santa Pau, Besalú).

Activities:
Walking, mountain-bike, horse-back riding, trips by balloon, golf.
