The cottage stands on one of the main walking paths of Shropshire; the Shropshire Way, which leads you past the ancient Clun castle into the Shropshire hills and on to Offa's Dyke path, with wonderful views across the high upland pastures. Clun hasn't changed much since A E Housman penned his description of it as 'the quietest place under the sun'.
